α-Arbutin

Overview

Alpha arbutin works by inhibiting tyrosinase activity that limits the melanin production in your skin.Be it age spots, acne scars or post-blemish redness, alpha arbutin minimizes it all.

Basic Information:

36abbc93ab6068b254864944ea953eeArbutin is a hydroquinone glycoside compound, the chemical name is 4-Hydroquinone-alpha-D-glucopyranoside, which exists in bearberry, bilberry and other plants. An emerging non-irritating, non-allergic, and highly compatible natural whitening active substance. There are two structural and functional functional groups in the molecular structure of arbutin: one is a glucose residue; the other is a phenolic hydroxyl group. The physical state of α-arbutin is white to light gray powder, which is easily soluble in water and ethanol.

α Arbutin & β Arbutin:

α-Arbutin can repair the damage caused by ultraviolet rays on the skin, recall the transparency of the skin, and is not easy to be decomposed by the β-glucosidase on the skin surface. Every corner of the skin, continue to protect the skin Chemicalbook from damage. Melanin is the cause of dull skin, and α-arbutin can quickly penetrate deep into the skin and inhibit the activity of tyrosinase in chromoblasts deep in the stratum corneum. And form a dual effect on the skin surface to inhibit the production of melanin.

Mechanism:

From the perspective of the whitening mechanism of arbutin, there are mainly two paths:

  • Inhibit tyrosinase activity

  • anti-oxidation

Effect:

Arbutin is mainly extracted from the leaves of Bearberry. Arbutin can also be found in some fruits and other plants. It has the effect of brightening the skin. It can quickly penetrate into the skin without affecting the skin cells and cause melanin. The resulting tyrosine binding can effectively block the activity of tyrosinase and the formation of melanin, and accelerate the decomposition and elimination of melanin. In addition, arbutin can protect the skin from free radicals and has good hydrophilicity, so it is often added to commercially available whitening products.

Arbutin is a natural active substance derived from green plants. It is a skin depigmentation component that integrates "green plants, safe and reliable" and "high-efficiency decolorization". It can quickly penetrate into the skin and does not affect cell proliferation. At the same time of concentration, it can effectively inhibit the activity of tyrosinase in the skin, block the formation of melanin, and directly combine with tyrosinase to accelerate the decomposition and excretion of melanin, thereby reducing skin pigmentation, eliminating pigmentation and pigmentation. Freckles, and do not produce toxic, irritating, sensitizing and other side effects to melanocytes, and also have bactericidal and anti-inflammatory effects. It is the safest and most effective whitening raw material popular today, and an ideal skin whitening and freckle-removing active agent in the 21st century.

  • Main use: used in advanced cosmetics, it can be formulated into skin cream, freckle cream, advanced pearl cream, etc.

  • Raw materials of burn medicine: Arbutin is the main component of the new type of burn medicine, which is characterized by rapid pain relief, strong anti-inflammatory power, rapid elimination of redness and swelling, fast healing, and no scarring.

  • Dosage form: Spray or spread.

  • Intestinal anti-inflammatory pharmaceutical raw materials: good sterilization, anti-inflammatory effect, no toxic and side effects.

Precautions:

  • Both β-arbutin and α-arbutin can only be used externally, not orally.

  • Arbutin cannot be used in the formulation of methylparaben, which is prone to produce hydroquinone, a harmful substance that irritates the skin.

  • Appropriate antioxidants can be added when formulating skin care products to prevent discoloration.

  • Carboside is not easily decomposed in the reaction temperature range of 30~50°C.

  • The pH value of arbutin should be controlled at 5-7, and its stability should be controlled within the adaptation range of human skin. Alkaline will change color, acid will break down a little.

  • In order to speed up the absorption of arbutin, the penetrant azone 0.8%~1% can be added.

Packaging & Storage:
  • Packing specification: 25kg cardboard drum, inner village double-layer plastic bag.

  • Storage method: Please place in a dry and ventilated place, avoid direct sunlight and high temperature.
